Print [Ferro-Alloys.com] It's reported that Indonesian Industry Minister Hidayat said the Indonesian government will cooperate with a number of Chinese enterprises to develop iron and steel industry and aluminum ore smelting, with investment of approximately USD8.6 billion, providing about 46,000 employment opportunities.
One project is carried out by China Eastern Mines Group and Riverstone Investment Co., Ltd., to develop of the iron and steel industry in West Java province, refining iron ore and further processing into high-quality steel, special steel and ferroalloy products.
On the other hand, China Aluminum Corporation plans to set up the largest aluminum ore smelter in Kalimantan, with designed annual output of about 1.8 million tons of aluminum ingots.
Indonesia can stop imports of aluminum ore if the factory is put into production.
