[Ferro-Alloys.com] China’sPangang Group has confirmed to construct a new continuous galvanizing line for its Chongqing plant with production capacity of 450,000 tons of high strength cold strip per annum for use in the automotive industry, supplied by Siemens Metals Technologies.

It is said that it is the first time that Chinese steel makers to produce the steel strips either by hot-dip galvanized with GI and GA coatings or by aluminized freely on a single line.

This new plant is planned to be finished by the middle of 2015.

The new galvanizing line will produce hot formed, high strength steels and deep drawing coated steels with strip thicknesses ranging from 0.5 to 3.0 millimeters and widths from 800 to 1,600 millimeters.
