Print[Ferro-alloys.com]Some official of Ministry of Environmental Protection of China (Environmental Protection) reported to the media that the department had decided to carry out special inspection on prevention of air pollution at in key areas from October 2013 to March 2014.
The official said the regions of this special inspection covered Beijing-tianjin-hebe i& surrounding areas, Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta, central part of Liaoning and other key areas.
The official pointed out the department would severely pursue the responsibility of the personnel or department concerned if uncovered illegal problems were not timely investigated or if prominent problems were not solved properly. Press would be invited to attend the inspection work and a batch of malicious emission behaviors and typical illegal cases would be exposed publicly. Environmental Protection would promote Beijing-tianjin-hebe i& surrounding areas to conduct targeted inspection and report to the society.
A researcher of Development Research Center of the State Council disclosed air pollution prevention of Beijing-tianjin-hebei & surrounding areas would be urgent this winter and illegal emission of this region was serious, so it was taken as the key area of this special inspection. He said this inspection would focus on steel enterprises. As a high energy consumption industry, steel industry had always been blamed for discharging excessive pollutants.
