According to data, Korea’s iron ore imports totaled around 4.72 million tons in August, falling by 13.2% from a month ago.
In the first eight months of this year, the country’s iron ore imports amounted to 39.52 million tons, decreasing by 9.9% year on year.
In the given period of time, Australia was the largest iron ore exporter to Korea with 28.44 million tons, down by 5.5%; Brazil was the second largest one with 8.97 million tons, decreasing by 21.2% and South Africa was the third largest one with 1.69 million tons, falling by 7.3%, all compared to the figures in the same period of 2012.
