Germany’s Crude Steel Production Rises in September

According to statistics released by the German steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WV Stahl), the country’s crude steel output totaled 3.6 million tons in September, rising by 1.4% year on year.
 
In the third quarter of this year, the country’s crude steel output totaled 10.2 million tons, falling by 3.3% year on year.
 
In the first eight months of this year, Germany’s output of hot rolled steel products totaled 24.4 million tons, down by 1.1% year on year.
 
Among them, 15.88 million tons were flat steel products, slumping by 2.6%; 8.5 million tons were long steel products, rising by 1.7%, both compared to the figures in the same period of 2012.
