[Ferro-Alloys.com]Minor Metals markets remained sluggish last week. Even selenium prices, which had been stable, slipped to $42-43 per lb from $43-35. Antimony prices were under pressure as one US consumer was able to buy at under $4.83 per lb. The Chinese indium market showed no signs of life. Even investment demand has disappeared in recent weeks, sources said. Spot prices in China were 3,650-3,700 yuan ($593-600) per kg, VAT included. A producer in Hunan province sold some 500 kg of metal at 3,680 per yuan ($597) kg, and another producer in the same province sold 400 kg at 3,670 yuan ($596) per kg.
Investment demand could become more of a factor in China, sources said, as more producers are opting to sell metal to the Fanya Metals Exchange. The exchange claims to have built stocks of 808 mt since last year.
