Print[Ferro-Alloys.com] According to statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey imported 452,203 tons of steel flat products in August, rising by 5.8% year on year and increasing by 9.5% from a month earlier.
Among them, the imports of hot rolled flats totaled 315,029 tons, increasing by 8%; that of cold rolled flats was at 53,063 tons, rising by 3.1% and that of coated flats was at 57,458 tons, jumping by 21%, all compared to that in the same period of a year earlier.
For the hot rolled flats, 70,791 tons were from Ukraine and 41,234 tons were from Romania in August.
Meanwhile, the major exporters of cold rolled flats to Turkey were Russia and Belgium with 18,015 tons and 10,610 tons respectively.
In addition, the main suppliers of coasted flats to Turkey in August were Italy and Belgium with 8,735 tons and 7,825 tons respectively.
