Copper tube market price is flat at around 880 yen per kilogram for product with 50 millimeter diameters and 5 mm thickness around Tokyo. The price could decrease more when domestic official copper ingot price decreased by 30,000 yen to 340,000 yen per tonne on Wednesday due to lower international price and higher yen rate.

 

The domestic tube products dealers reduced the copper tube price by around 50 yen per kg in early December. One dealer source said further price cut is hard for them but another source see lower copper ingot price could force the dealers to reduce the price more. Copper tube demand decreases for feed-water pipe and heat exchanger of air conditioner due to slower construction activity while the demand for small diameter products is also slump for electric and telecommunication equipment. –Japan Metal Bulletin
