The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) must thoroughly check whether all “Ditiao steel” capacities have been eliminated, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said during the State Council meeting yesterday. 

"Ditiao steel” is a Chinese name for low-quality steel produced in intermediate frequency furnace with steel scrap as raw material.

Once found, relevant personnel shall be held accountable. China will make sure eliminated “Ditiao steel” capacities do not come back online.
