[Ferro-Alloys.com]BHP Billiton announced to increase Nickel West investments, will vigorously develop high grade nickel mines and restart pending projects. It planned nickel operations in the West will be maintained until at least 2032.
But company executives noted that BHP Billiton to increase investment in Western nickel, it will be the core of nickel industry in Western Australia
over the next decades.
BHP Billiton is confidence that nickel market will improve further, plans to be rebuilt Kalgoorlie smelter in 2023, will extend its operating schedule until 2030. Redevelopment project is expected to cost more than US$1.5 million.
