Seeing the purchase volume of the steel mills which made it publicly, we could find there was general tendency of slight decreases. This could be attributed to the reduction or even suspended production of the steel mills and foundry plants spread near to Beijing where 2014 APEC conference was to be held in early November.

Several large sized ferrosilicon furnaces came on stream in main ferrosilicon production regions, which lifted local capacity and the large inventory of the producers. Enough supply and power charges forced some producers to quote ferrosilicon at prices much lower than mainstream quotations.
