[Ferro-alloys.com]Belarus’ ferrous rolled stock output decreased 6.9% on the year in January-March 2014 to 575,000 tonnes, an official with Belarus’ National Statistics Committee told.Steel output decreased 16.8% on the year to 584,700 tonnes. Carbonic steel wire output grew 1.8% on the year to 115,200 tonnes. Stainless steel wire output reduced 21.7% to 1,139 tonnes.

Belarusian companies produced 23,100 tonnes of metal cord in the period, up 1.2% on the year.In monetary terms, ferrous metal output in Belarus reduced 2.3% on the year to 10.31 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br) in Jan-Mar 2014 ($1.033 billion).Inventories of steel products totalled Br1.487 trillion ($148.998 million) as of April 1, 2014, 64.5% of the average monthly output.
